Pamela Reed is a growing her own vegetables in the city on her Brooklyn rooftop.

She and her husband grow a wide variety of vegetables and fruits like; broccoli, cauliflower, peas, edamame, tomatoes, corn, peppers, kale, carrots, radish, potatoes, and many more. They even grow pumpkins!

Their garden is a place to relax and escape the city below. It also fills their freezer and canning jars so they enjoy home grown treats all year long.

  1. Wow, I just moved to brooklyn and has a townhouse type roof. How do you determine if the roof is suitable/strong enough to grow plants like yours…I think my roof looks the same type as yours, but though I can conquer my fear of height, I'm still paranoid about the structural strength of my roof.
