PLANT LEAF DRYING and BROWN at TIPS AND EDGES: Top 5 Reasons – Diagnosis Cure and Hacks (Tips)

Views:398979|Rating:4.80|View Time:5:9Minutes|Likes:6347|Dislikes:270
In Todays video, we will look into Top 5 reasons for Plant Leaf Drying and getting Brown at tips and edges with diagnosing and treating a common plant diseases and plant health problems – that is cure to the problem of BROWNISH DRY EDGES ON LEAVES OF PLANTS, the Top 5 Reasons causing this and
What Causes this Browning and Drying at the Edges On Leaves Of Plants
I am sure most of you might have encountered this problem on their favourite plants. When a plant develops brown edges on leaves or brown leaf tips, a gardener’s first thought goes on to think that it is a disease or pest that is attacking the plant. Infact, this is not always the case.
So, What are the Causes of Brown Edges on Leaves of Plants?
When the whole of the leaf or leaves are getting brown on a plant, this can indicate several other major problems, but when just the sides or tips of the leaf turn brown, there is only one common diagnosis, that is the plant is STRESSED.
The Commonest cause for brown leaf tips or brown edges on leaves is the plant not getting enough water. There are several reasons or explanations on why this may happen.
• First of all check whether you are adequately watering the plant by checking the soil surface for its moistness. If you are forgetting to water the plant, rectify this problem immediately, especially for water loving plants. But this does not mean you have to over water them. The best solution to this is to dip your finger into the soil to an inch and check whether its dry or moist. If dry then water it thoroughly.
• The roots may be constricted and unable to pick up the water, especially in container gardening. Also Too Much Clay rich Soil is another cause of constricting the roots tightly. So Increase watering to resolve this – but there is a possibility of root rot with overwatering, Hence best solution to this is repot the plant in a larger container and in a loose well draining soil. And the next 3rd reason is just opposite of this one.
• The soil does not hold onto the water. If your soil is too much sandy or over draining soil with lot of sand, the water may simply be draining away too fast and this may be causing water deficiency and brown edges on leaves. Improve the soil with other stuff like organic material and mixing some garden soil and other stuff like cocopeat, perlite, vermiculite, etc which will hold onto the water better.
• The roots may be damaged. Like while digging or even repotting or too much root pruning of a root bound plant, this can cause root damage and reduced water uptake. In this case, correct the problem that is causing the root damage and then do some good pruning on the plant branches to reduce its water requirement so that the root system recovers from this stress.
• Another last reason for the sides of a leaf to turn brown is a high salt content in the soil either using hard water (salty water) to water the plants or Over use of Fertlizers. To overcome this start watering with soft water and also if over fertilized – flush the pot with large amounts of soft water keeping it in sunlight and opening the drainage hole of the pot well, so that the salty water or the fertilizer flushes out easily out of the pot.

15 SMART AND CHEAP PLANT HACKS AND IDEAS

Views:154811|Rating:4.73|View Time:7:52Minutes|Likes:3056|Dislikes:176
Amazing plant tips and DIY’s you need to know

Having plants in our homes is like having a piece of nature to remind us how beautiful the world is outside. Some people love plants so much they cross-breed them, some others have huge gardens filled with flowers, while others choose to grow herbal plants for their delicious homemade teas. Regardless the reason or the choice of plants, there are various ways to take care of them and many hacks to teach yourself through this video.

1. DIY plant fertilizer:
There is no need for you to go and buy a fertilizer which is filled with chemicals when you can create your own organic fertilizer using things you already have in your own home. Take a banana and put it in your blender. Then add some used ground coffee and then a few egg shells. Finally mix everything together really well and put it in the soil of your plants in order to feed them.

2. Another way to fertilize your plants is by using water from a fish tank.
Tropical fish tanks contain certain bacteria which can be very beneficial to plants both inside and outside water. So, if you have an aquarium at home and you are doing a water-change, instead of throwing away all that water that you are wasting, keep it safe to water your plants.

3. DIY Sprinkler:
If you are looking for a way to quickly water your grass and bring it back to life, then try this little trick. Take a plastic bottle and pierce it all around at the bottom in two layers, one on top of each other. Then, attach your garden hose on it and seal it perfectly using tape. When you turn the water on, the plastic bottle will fill with water and it will start sprinkling water on your grass. Voila.

4. DIY weed killer:
Are you trying to build your little paradise in your garden but those little annoying weeds keep appearing. Here we have the solution on how to make your own weed killer using household items. In a glass bowl add two spoons of washing up liquid, one spoon of salt and fill the bowl up on top with vinegar. Mix them all really well and transfer the mixture into a spray bottle. Then start spraying to get rid of those weeds.

5. How to grow your own pineapple tree:
Did you know that you can grow your own pineapple tree from just a pineapple? Here is what you need to do. Cut off the leafy brat for your pineapple and remove the smaller leaves from the bottom ( remove at about 4-5 to make some space for the roots to start growing) then, place the leafy brat in a glass half-filled with water and wait for a few days until the new roots start showing. Then transfer your pineapple in soil, and voila.

6.Diaper hack
Did you know that using a diaper can help you grow a plant twice as big? Try this hack and you won’t regret it. Take a brand new diaper and pour some water on the inside. Then using scissors, cut it in the middle and remove the superabsorbent polymers from the diaper and place them into a bowl. Then inside that bowl add the adequate amount of soil and mix them together. Finally, add the mixture into a plant pot and transfer a plant of your choice and see the results.

7. How to decorate an old pot and make it look like brand new.
If you have an old pot laying around but you don’t want to get rid of it, why not re-decorate it. Take some modeling clay and create three long, round stripes. Then try to french braid each stripe on top of each other and place it all around the pot. Then let is dry and transfer your favorite plant inside to give the pot a second life.

Views:177369|Rating:4.77|View Time:4:48Minutes|Likes:2423|Dislikes:118
The Benefits of ASpirin in Garden and Top 6 proven uses of aspirin in gardening for plants. The Medicine Aspirin, once used to be the most commonly used Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory and Analgesic – now surprisingly has found to benefit your garden. The Top 5 useful effects of Aspirin in gardening.
Aspirin is chemically Acetyl Salicylic Acids and salicylic acid is naturally found in willow bark and many other trees.
So, what is the actual concept behind using Aspirin in gardening or farming. Studies have found that the plant hormone salicylic acid is released in tiny amounts when plants are in stress. So this concept has been utilized and many benefits of Aspirin have been proven, which am gonna listout one by one.
1. Aspirin as a Rooting Chemical: Rooting hormones like indole acetic and butyric acid are already discussed in my video on What are rooting hormones – you can checkout that video.
Well to improve the success rate of rooting while propagating from cuttings, Simply take a teaspoon of cinnamon powder from your kitchen and add it to 1 litre of lukewarm water and then drop in half a 350mg dispersible aspirin tablet and stir it well. Then dip the cuttings into this solutions for about 30 to 60 minutes and then plant those cuttings.
2. Aspiring Improves Seed Germination: A low dose of aspirin water significantly improves seed germination and in one study the plants treated with the aspirin water had a 100 percent germination rate, while the plants that weren’t treated had more inconsistent results. For this drop half a tablet of a 350 mg Aspirin into 1 liter of water and stir well and spray on the sown seeds or soak the seeds in it for few hours before planting them.
3. Aspirin for Plant growth: The University of Rhode Island sprayed plants with an aspirin water solution once every three weeks for the course of an entire growing season. At the end, the plants sprayed with the aspirin solution were found much bigger and had more fruit or flowers than their counterparts.
4. To keep Cut flowers stay fresh: Put a half a tablet of aspirin in a vase with fresh cut flowers from your garden to help them stay fresh longer.
5. Aspiring for Healthy Tomatoes: Spray your tomato saplings or even soak the tomato seeds with the same mixture of water and aspirin, before planting them in the ground for healthier, more disease resistant plants.
6. Aspirin spray also an anti fungal and treats Blight in plants: Blight refers to a specific symptom affecting some plants like tomatoes due to infections by pathogenic microrganisms, leading to rapid and complete chlorosis, browning, then death of plant tissues such as leaves, branches, flowers and fruits.

10 SECRET TIPS TO GROW ROSE FROM CUTTINGS: Hacks // How to Grow Rose Plant from Cuttings

Views:578485|Rating:4.71|View Time:3:50Minutes|Likes:6602|Dislikes:400
Today we will learn, how to successfully grow roses from cuttings successfully using certain hacks and tricks. Growing Rose cuttings successfully needs little care and application of certain hacks unlike other plant cuttings which are easy to grow. Whether you are growing roses in water or in soil, use these common tips and tricks that will give you the best results. Also at the end of the video a simple unique hack to be more successful in rooting rose cuttings.

Now I shall list out these important tips one by one involved in rose cutting rooting:
1. Choosing the Right Cuttings – always choose semi woody cuttings from the branch which is healthy with young shoots and leaves at its tip. Semi woody means – neither too hard nor too soft and young.
2. Choose Disease free cuttings. Check the stem for any black spots or white spots which indicates fungus attack. Do not use such cuttings.
3. The Length of the cuttings should not be too long – try to restrict to 6 or 8 inches.
4. Make a Cut at 45 degree cutting angle and the point of insertion of the stem cutting using a sharp and a clean cutting tool. Wipe the tool with hydrogen peroxide or with spirit with a cotton to keep it free from germs.
5. Use a Rooting hormone powder like Indole Butyric Acid, which is a chemical that stimulates rooting. If you do not have it, you can use organic rooting agents like Cinnamon powder from your kitchen or even dip into some good quality pure honey and insert the cuttings. Another hack here is – if you are trying to root rose cuttings in water, mix a pinch of this rooting chemical into the water for better results.
6. The Growth Medium you are using is also important. If you are rooting in water. The container water should be changed every 3 days to prevent contamination and infection. If you are using Potting soil, use a loose or well draining soil for root development with atleast 10% compost in it.
7. Insertion depth: That is how deep should I insert the cuttings. Minimum 1 inch deep or 1 to 2 inches depth is considered better.
8. Keep the cuttings covered to maintain humidity and prevent moisture evaporation. You can use polythene bags or simply keep them in a covered contained.

19 Garden Hacks for Thrifty Gardeners.
Call them shortcuts, money savers or clever tricks, but many thrifty garden-management practices, or “hacks,” have proved worthwhile for penny-pinching hobby farmers.

As many natural and organic growers already know, a gardener can experience success without leaning on big-box stores, harsh chemical sprays, pre-mixed fertilizers and pricey garden tools. For many of our parents and grandparents, remedies for garden challenges, such as pest repellants or fertilizers, originated from household staples and repurposed everyday items. While these garden hacks can save you money and a trip to the store, they can also provide a more natural approach to gardening that many growers—and eaters—desire.
